Ador Powertron Unveils ‘Yonder Hub,’ a Cutting-Edge Hydrogen Power Source Factory in Pune, Paving the Path for Green Innovation

New Facility Set to Revolutionize Green Hydrogen Production with 500 MW Capacity for Advanced Transformer-Rectifier Technologies.

Pune, January 9, 2025: Ador Powertron Ltd., a key division of the Ador Group, proudly unveiled its state-of-the-art facility, Yonder Hub, dedicated to advancing green hydrogen power solutions. The new factory, located in Pune, boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 500 MW and specializes in MW-scale Transformers and Rectifiers using cutting-edge IGBT, SIC and also conventional Thyristor technologies. These advanced systems power electrolysers for green hydrogen production, reinforcing Ador Group’s commitment to India’s green energy transformation.

The inauguration of Yonder Hub was graced by the Australian High Commissioner (Ambassador) to India, Philip Green OAM, whose presence highlighted the growing synergy between India and Australia in the energy transition sector. Speaking at the event, Mr. Green highlighted the importance of collaboration between both countries in driving global sustainable energy initiatives, emphasizing how partnerships like these play a vital role in tackling climate change.

The India-Australia bilateral relationship has grown significantly over the years, evolving from a ‘Strategic Partnership’ in 2020 to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). A key focus of this evolving collaboration is the 2023 Australia-India Critical Minerals Investment Partnership, which has identified five pivotal projects, two focused on lithium and three on cobalt, for joint investment. These initiatives are vital for strengthening both nations’ energy security and fostering long-term cooperation in critical sectors.

Ravin Mirchandani, Chairman of Ador Powertron Ltd expressed his gratitude for Mr. Green’s participation in this, “We are thankful to High Commissioner Green for being with us today as we mark this important milestone. Over the years, the partnership between India and Australia has strengthened, opening up new avenues for collaboration in both traditional and emerging sectors. This partnership continues to offer fresh opportunities, contributing to regional stability and global cooperation.”

Mirchandani further emphasized the significance of Yonder Hub for India’s green energy aspirations, stating, “The Yonder Hub is a critical development for India’s green energy landscape. It aligns with our national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based power by 2030. Through continued investments and cutting-edge technologies, we are proud to support India’s climate action framework, ‘Panchamrit.'”

Ador has grown as a technology hub for the energy transition sector and over the last decade has focused on developing technology for design and manufacture of batteries with future chemistries such as lithium, as well as DC fast chargers designed and made in India for export to G7 economies. Ador Powertron’s new hydrogen power facility further deepens the company’s presence in power technology for the energy transition sector and is designed to play a central role in making green hydrogen more accessible and practical globally.

With its advanced capabilities, the Yonder Hub places Ador Group at the forefront of India’s energy transition. While the immediate focus of production is on meeting the growing demand in Europe, the facility also contributes to India’s renewable energy targets and positions the country as a leader in the global shift toward sustainable energy. Ador has committed an investment of over Rs 50 Cr over a three-year period to further expanding its Yonder Hub.
